Mike Borsetti is the founder and CEO of
Above Telecommunications (Abovetel), an innovative service provider
enabling enterprise-grade secure business to business collaboration.
He has over eighteen years of experience in emerging
market-leading products and services in the telecommunications industry.
Previously he was a Venture Consultant to
Accel Partners, an advisor and executive at
Telverse Communications (now Level 3),
and an early executive at startup NorthPoint Communications
(now AT&T), a pioneering national CLEC
offering DSL, where he oversaw products and technology strategy, as well as
at VersaPoint, its affiliated European company. Prior to NorthPoint, Mike
was a product and marketing executive with Cellular One (now
AT&T Mobility) in San Francisco,
where he headed that company’s wireless data activities and the transition
from analog to digital services, and a consultant with the
Boston Consulting Group.
Mike has also been a strategic advisor to private equity
investors, carriers and equipment manufacturers on emerging technologies
including converged broadband services, IP video, IP TV, VoIP, IP Centrex,
Fixed-Mobile Convergence, WiMAX, and security. His clients include
Telecom Italia,
myQube Ventures,
Good Technologies (now
Motorola), Clearnet (now
Rogers), and
Sprint PCS.
He is a founding Board member of the International Softswitch Consortium
(now IMS Forum) and of
La Piccola Scuola Italiana
di San Francisco, a non-profit full immersion preschool, and is
currently serving as a co-chair of
BAIA Business Association Italy America, a non-profit linking the U.S.
and Italian business communities.
Mike holds an MBA
from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BA with Honors from
Northwestern University. ### |
